Google Blogger Users Finally Get To Schedule Drafts

19 December 2009

https://www.blogger.com/img/logo230_draft.gifThough Google is often said to be moving well ahead its primary competition (Microsoft, Yahoo, etc.) as far as new innovations are concerned, it is really behind the times with respect to some of the smaller things in life. Case in point: the post scheduling feature long found as standard inside various independent blogging platforms.

Yes, it’s true. While millions of Internet authors fortunate to lay roots with services like Automattic’s WordPress (WordPress) and SixApart’s TypePad (TypePad), those digital penmen and penwomen who’ve taken a liking to Google (Google)’s Blogger (blogger) over the years have had to contend with the lack of a scheduler in the standard software design.
But no longer. According to a new memo by Jason Wilson on the Blogger in Draft website, Blogger users won’t have to stick by their computers, tediously watching the clock, waiting to click the Publish button. Google has finally incorporated a scheduling feature inside its popular blogging software that will allow users to spend their idle hours climbing mountains, watching sunsets, spending time with family and friends, and generally been freed of their screens.
Keep in mind, the feature isn’t yet part of the full-fledged Blogger system. Users will need to sign in through ‘http://draft.blogger.com‘ to put some snazzy time delay magic on their posts. But hey, it’s something. And it couldn’t have come sooner enough.
